The Emir of Kuwait and the Emir of Qatar have accepted the prime minister’s invitation to pay a visit to Pakistan. Kuwait’s Emir Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani were earlier invited by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. This visit of the Arab dignitaries is being viewed as a big diplomatic success and crucial in a bid to boost the economy of Pakistan.
Kuwait’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nassar Abdulrahman Jasser Almutairi and Qatar’s Ambassador to Pakistan Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater conveyed these messages, during separate meetings with the prime minister in the federal capital. Both of these envoys presented letters to the premier wherein the emirs of their concerned countries expressed their intention to visit Pakistan on mutually agreed dates. Upon receiving the letter, the premier minister expressed about his recent meeting with the Kuwait’s Emir on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum’s special meeting in Riyadh last month. He expressed satisfaction that the upcoming meeting of the Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission would take place in Kuwait from May 28 to 30. The PM also expressed happiness over this development and in the meeting with Qatar’s ambassador, emphasized Pakistan’s profound appreciation for its historic relations with Qatar.
The prime minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening relationship and mutual cooperation between the brotherly nations. Mr. Shehbaz extended an invitation to the emir of Kuwait to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience. He also sought the implementation of bilateral agreements worth 10 billion US Dollars inked between Pakistan and Kuwait in November last year. this development is being taken as a positive and excellent step of this government and a diplomatic success when Pakistan needs that. Recently Pakistan has succeeded in seeking investment from Dubai and Saudi Arabia. It is also hopeful in having more foreign investment. (By Rana Kashif)
