As warring tribes signed Kurram peace agreement, the KP government has started compensation activities in clashes-hit areas.
The Relief Department of the KP govt has conducted a thorough survey of the villages impacted by tribal conflicts in Kurram, on Thursday.
The government made this move following the Wednesday’s peace agreement between the warring tribes.
The Relief Department, as per reports, will now focus on compensating the victims of the Kurram clashes. The clashes claimed the lives of about 130 people, reports said.
The KP government announced that the warring groups in Kurram district have finally signed a 14-point peace agreement after three weeks of mediation efforts.
The Grand Jirga had long been working for the peace pact. The agreement led to the reopening of roads in conflict-hit district near Afghanistan border.
Clashes in Kurram have caused severe food and medicine shortages in the region. Now with the opening of roads the normal life of Kurram residents is expected to resume.
