Two more people have died and ten more were injured wounded in new shooting incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s District Kurram, adding to the death toll from continuing tribal hostilities, sources said.
The most recent wave of violence, which is now in its eleventh day, has killed 124 people and injured 178 more, according to police confirmation.
There is a communication blackout in the Kurram area, with educational institutions shuttered and internet and cellphone services blocked.
The local government claims that everyday life and business operations have been hampered by the ongoing shutdown of the main Peshawar-Parachinar route.
Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud stated that continuing talks with representatives from both warring factions are part of the ongoing efforts to bring about peace.

For the previous ten days, two judges and twenty-five court staff members have been unable to leave the region, according to the president of the Sadda Tehsil Bar. Although a helicopter airlift was suggested by the provincial authorities, no rescue effort has been conducted as of yet.
Despite a recent ceasefire deal, the situation has remained tight since November 21 and fighting continues.
Earlier this week, a 10-day truce was mediated, but it has been proven useless due to sporadic violence.
Ambushes on two different convoys under police protection started the ongoing hostilities nine days ago, and on the first day, 52 people were killed. Since then, the conflict between the opposing factions has intensified, making it difficult for the police to keep things under control.
