Warring tribes in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have agreed on ceasefire as Kurram violence so far claimed 75 lives.
KP government spokesperson Barrister Saif said he along with tribal elders visited the area and held meeting with Shia and Sunni leaders.
He said both sides have agreed on ceasefire for seven days, also showing consent to transfer dead bodies and prisoners.
So far 75 people were killed in sectarian clashes in the area located at border of Afghanistan. The clashes broke following attack on 200 passenger vehicles by the extremists which led to the killing of over 44 people including children and women.
Peace delegation led by Barrister Saif played a key role in establishment of temporary peace. The area has long been turned into the war zone between the Shia and Sunni tribes. The KP government said it was trying its best for establishment of permanent peace.
