LAKKI MARWAT: Eleven members of a same family, including children and women, were allegedly found murdered inside their house in town of Takhti Khel of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Lakki Marwat district on Wednesday.
Lakki Marwat District Police Officer (DPO) Tariq Habib confirmed the incident and informed all the family members were stabbed to death with a sharp-edged weapon. “The victims included two brothers identified as Alambardar and Tabidar, their wives and children, and a nephew,” he added.
The police removed the bodies to District Hospital Lakki Marwat for medico-legal formalities and launched investigation to unfold the mystery surrounding the gruesome incident.
According to the police, in the light of preliminary investigation, raids are being carried out to arrest the suspect.
DPO Habib said that the police suspected the father-in-law of Alambardar’s daughter for the killings. The suspect visited their home a few days earlier and was since staying at their house as a guest.
“There was a vacant bed present at the house which means that there was another person in the house besides the residents,” he added.
According to DPO Habib, the two brothers’ residence was located far away from the main populated area and they were living in two houses separated by a wall.
“It seems that the suspect used a ladder to enter the second house after killing the residents of the first house. The crime is likely to have been carried out a couple of days ago,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention that a member of the same family was killed a month ago after which the locals had protested by blocking the Indus Highway.ss
In a separate incident, the bodies of three members of a family were found with throats slit in Kotri, Sindh.
As per details, the bodies of the husband and wife and their child were found in a rented house in the Sikandarabad Colony of Kotri Site area.
The bodies have been moved to the hospital for legal formalities, while an investigation launched to determine the cause behind the gruesome murders.
