The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has been shortlisted for Time magazine’s coveted “Person of the Year” accolade. At 42, she has been acknowledged for championing discussions around the privacy and health of public figures, according to the New York Post.
The past year has been particularly challenging for the princess, who underwent abdominal surgery and faced a cancer diagnosis earlier in January. During her recovery, she stepped back from her royal responsibilities but has gradually re-engaged with public engagements.
One of Kate Middleton recent events, the “Together at Christmas” carol service held at Westminster Abbey, underscored themes of compassion and resilience, reflecting her journey.
Speaking with singer Paloma Faith, she remarked, “This year brought unexpected challenges, much like it has for so many others.”
Other nominees for the award include influential figures such as Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Kamala Harris, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and podcast host Joe Rogan. The title, awarded to those who have made a significant global impact, will be announced on December 12, succeeding Taylor Swift, who received the honor in 2023.
