The protesters alleged that board officials were demanding bribes.
In response, the chairman of the intermediate education committee assured that the department is committed to address the students’ concerns. He also announced that students could view their exam copies if needed.
BIEK Chairman Sharaf Ali Shah stated that students who are dissatisfied with the results, can return with their parents to review their exam papers.
It’s pertinent to note that the intermediate results have significantly impacted Karachi students. It has reduced chances of gaining admission to professional educational institutions. In the pre-medical group, 66% of students failed, and in the pre-engineering group, 74% of students failed.
Recently removed Chairman of the Board of Intermediate Karachi, Amir Hussain Qadri, defended the results/ He asserted that they are based entirely on merit. He mentioned that the results were re-evaluated following complaints.
Notably, a few days after the issuance of results, the Sindh government dismissed Amir Hussain Qadri for traveling abroad without permission.
