Renowned Pakistani actress Ayesha Toor has shared her perspective on regional differences in men’s behavior comparing Karachi and Punjab.

Recently Ayesha appeared in an interview on the FHM podcast. During the interview, she expressed her perception about the men of Punjab and Karachi.
Ayesha shared that she has noticed a clear difference of Punjab and Karachi men regarding treating their women.
“It’s not unusual for women to bear unwanted attention almost everywhere, but the situation in Karachi is noticeably more respectful”, she explained.
She explained that men in Karachi tend to stare at women less. They may glance at a woman briefly, but then quickly turned to their business.
“In Punjab men’s staring begins immediately upon arrival, even at the airport, and often continues no matter where one goes in the region”, Ayesha noticed.
Additional to this Ayesha commented on the paradox of Punjab’s societal structure.
“Although Punjab is more developed with better wealth and career opportunities, as well as significant military presence but it is still less progressive socially”, Ayesha explained.
She added that patriarchal attitudes have firmer grip in Punjab than in Karachi. “Although Punjab see advancement in many areas but the Punjab’s social dynamics are less evolved”, Ayesha told.
