Journalist Shakir Awan is safely rescued and reached home. Shakir Mehmood Awan has confirmed his recovery through social media platforms. The journalist thanked those who raised their voices against his kidnapping.
Meanwhile, Shakir Awan’s recovery case is under hearing in the Lahore High Court. Notably, Shakir Awan was kidnapped by unknown persons on the night of November 28.
Previously, the Lahore High Court on Friday summoned IG Punjab on 02 December for the heating of the petition for the recovery of journalists and youtube.
The court further instructed the Punjab Safe City Authority to submit CCTV footage of the journalist’s alleged abduction from his residence.
Earlier, Additional IGP Punjab, Shehzada Sultan, appeared before the court. A law officer presented an FIR filed by South Cantonment Police regarding Awan’s abduction, registered against unidentified individuals.
