Pakistani TikToker and actress Jannat Mirza has landed in trouble after her controversial comments about Japanese culture during a recent podcast.
In the podcast hosted by Hina Altaf, Jannat shared her thoughts on Japan’s lifestyle. When asked about Japanese cleanliness, she criticized their strict waste disposal rules.
She explained that Japan lacks public trash bins, as people are expected to take their trash home.
Once home, the garbage must be meticulously sorted- labels, bottles, and caps are all disposed of in separate bins.
Jannat remarked that every household in Japan has at least three trash bins to follow these rules. She considered this practice excessive, describing it as “psychotic” and questioning, “Who favorites every piece of trash like this after eating?”
Her comments quickly went viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism. Many users defended Japan’s waste management system praising it as a sign of discipline and love for the country.
Critics argued that Japan’s meticulous approach to cleanliness is not a problem but a solution, reflecting their commitment to the environment and national pride.
Social media users also highlighted that such practices contribute to Japan’s global reputation as a progressive and organized nation.
They slammed Jannat for misunderstanding and disrespecting a culture that sets an example for others.
