Jamia Haqania suicide attack: A Suicide bomb attack inside Jamia Haqania, a pro-Taliban seminary in northwest Pakistan, claims the lives of at least five worshippers and wounding scores more, on Friday.
The deadly explosion that unfolded a day before the Holy month of Ramadan kills JUI-S head Maulana Hamidul Haq, media reports say.
According to Abdul Rashid, the district police officer, the explosion happened in the district of Akkora Khattak in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
While the deceased and injured are being transported to local hospitals, authorities are presently looking into the situation.
The attack on Jamia Haqania, a seminary with ties to the Afghan Taliban, has not yet been attributed to any one faction.
The incident took place before the holy month of Ramadan, which, depending on the moon, is predicted to start either on Saturday or Sunday.
