In an unfortunate incident, Jaffar express train has been hijacked by terrorists in Bolan with 500 people onboard.
On Tuesday morning, when Jaffar express was enroute to Peshawar, unidentified armed men attacked the train, resulting in injuries to several passengers on board.
According to the media reports, the armed men stopped the train in mountainous terrain of Mach. Reportedly, the onboard passengers were taken hostage.
Eyewitnesses and levies confirmed that Firing in the area continues as train is stopped.
Railway police verified the Jaffar express hijack and validated that stopped train has approximately 500 passengers.
The situation is still developing, though unconfirmed reports are suggesting that multiple passengers have sustained injuries in the incident.
Officials confirmed that emergency protocol has been activated in area nearby.
Security forces have taken the control of area around Mach. Mach is a difficult mountainous region with problems related to mobility.
Additional security convoys have been deployed to assist in the operation.
Reportedly, the terrorist used explosives to destroy the railway tracks before they opened the fire.
In the latest developments, efforts are initiated to free the hostages and secure the passengers.
