Israel has released 200 Palestinian inmates as per the reports of Israel Prison Service, who were destined to be freed, today.
The people who were set to be released today had already been freed.
After the completion of all the activities in the prisons and following approval by the political authorities, all the people were released from the Ofer and Ktziot prisons.
Hamas, a Palestinian organization, released four Israeli women soldiers in exchange for 200 Palestinian inmates held in Israeli prisons.
All four appeared to be in good health. They were among the 251 hostages taken during the Oct. 7 raid.
They are all part of a largely female corps of observers stationed around Gaza to look out for any signs of Hamas activity.
In the coming weeks, another female soldier who was abducted along with them is expected to be released.
Video of the four’s abduction, which was screened in May showed the five conscripts being handcuffed and loaded into a jeep while wearing pyjamas.
They were dazed and, in some cases, bleeding.
Israeli officials said they found the video on bodycams worn by the attackers who assaulted a Nahal Oz base.
The base is situated in southern Israel where the women worked as surveillance spotters.
Moreover, Israeli government, charges Hamas of breaching the agreement on ceasefire.
The Israeli government says that Hamas fails to free civilian captive Arbel Yehud.
In retaliation, Israel declared that displaced Palestinians would not be allowed to return to northern Gaza Strip. It, they say, is as stipulated by the agreement.
According to Hamas, Arbal Yehud is still alive and will be released the following week.
