Syria endured over 8 hours of intense Israel airstrikes on the coastal city of Tartus, shaking the area with powerful explosions and filling the skies with towering flames.
According to Al-Arabia, more than 10 attacks were carried out, with the destruction captured on camera.
The intensity of the strikes was so severe that the targeted areas registered tremors measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale.
The” Syrian Observatory for Human Rights” reported that the Israeli strike targeted air defense units and warehouses storing surface-to-surface missiles. The observatory described the experience as some of the most devastating in Syrian coastal areas since 2012.
A Syrian military officer based in Tatrus stated that this was the first time the city had been subjected to such large-scale Israeli bombardment.
He also noted that Israel appear to have used new missiles in these attacks, with explosion sounds audible more than 10 kilometers away.
The intense bombing spread panic among the local population, with residents left in fear due to the scale of destruction.
This incident follows 350 Israeli strikes across Syria in just 48 hours last week, targeting strategic weapons stockpiles to prevent them from falling into extremist hands.
