A student from Islamia College University Peshawar was found dead in his hostel room, allegedly by committing suicide, campus police reported.
Some hostel mates noticed the incident and informed the police, who promptly arrived at the scene and transferred the body for a post-mortem examination.
As per police reports, the student is identified as Ziauddin, a 7th-semester law student from Upper Dir. Zia allegedly has taken his own life by using a drawstring, police report says.
Initial investigation reveals that the victim had cut the drawstring into two pieces, to strangle himself.
“Ziauddin was alone in his room, which was locked from the inside. The postmortem report confirms there are no signs of physical torture on his body”, Police official stated.
A suicide note, reportedly written by Ziauddin and addressed to his father in Pashto, has been widely shared on social media. Titled “Why I Am Committing Suicide,” the note reads: “Father, I am in a state that I cannot describe. I am tired of this world. I am not in love with anyone nor involved in any love affair, but I no longer wish to live. I don’t know why, but I cannot continue in this society.”
University students are circulating this note on social media, drawing significant attention to the incident.
