PTI founder chairman Imran Khan is expected to be released from Adiala jail Rawalpindi on Friday (June 27) but prime minister advisor on political affairs Rana Sanaullah insists the government would try to keep the former in prison.
Though the minister himself predicted his release, he claims freeing Khan could cause unrest in the country.
The former prime minister is in prison for over a year over multiple accusations. The courts, however, suspended his sentence in leading cases ranging from Toshakhana corruption reference to Cipher conspiracy. The last hurdle in his release is Iddat case. The court in Islamabad is expected to announce the verdict on the appeal of suspension of sentence of Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi on June 27 (tomorrow). And it is widely expected his sentence would be suspended.
The government is planning to lodge fresh cases against jailed leader of the PTI in a bid to delay his release from prison, said Rana Sanaullah.
