Electrek claimed that Elon Musk’s Tesla has declared its intention to launch more affordable electric vehicles (EVs) that will be manufactured on its present production lines.
Working on its “next-generation vehicle platform,” the corporation has been aggressively attempting to lower the cost of electric vehicles by enabling a new production method known as “unboxed.”
Tesla has previously discussed two forthcoming models on the platform: the “$25,000 Tesla” or “Model 2” is a smaller and less expensive variant than the Model 3.
The EV manufacturing business is also developing Robotaxi, a vehicle specifically intended for self-driving.
A few weeks prior, Musk referred to Reuters as “liars” for their allegation that Tesla had “canceled the long-promised inexpensive car”.
Elektrek, however, stated that Tesla has really ceased development of the new, lower-cost car based on the new platform. It included insider information confirming Musk’s decision to shelve plans to expand Gigafactory Texas to accommodate the next car, code-named NV9.
Tesla announced the shift in its plans for its more affordable electric vehicles along with the announcement of its Q1 2024 financial results.
