An influential landowner has been accused of severing the leg of a poor farmer’s donkey with an axe after the animal entered his fields in Pattoki.
The police have registered a case following the farmer’s complaint.
The FIR said that the farmer had brought fodder for livestock using a donkey cart. After unloading the fodder, he separated the donkey from the cart, and the animal subsequently wandered off.
The farmer and his son began searching for the donkey and heard its distress calls. When they arrived at the scene, they found the donkey severely injured, with one of its legs cut off, at a nearby farmhouse adjacent to the fields.
The local police have confirmed that they have opened an investigation into the incident and are taking appropriate action.
