Indian prodigy GM Gukesh Dommaraju has become the world champion of chess.
He has defeated the Chinese grandmaster (GM) Ding Liren in FIDE World Championship.
Singapore hosted the prestigious event. Many world champions of Chess attended the event. Millions have watched it online.
Gukesh is is youngest world champion as he claimed the title at age of 18.
He has defeated Chinese grandmaster , 32 years old 2023 world champion, in 14th and last match.
Both player won 2-2 matches and rest 9 were ended in draw.
However, Gukesh claimed the final match with black pieces.
Gukesh won the prestigious award against his opponent with 7.5-6.5.
He is now 18th world’s undisputed champion of 2024. He is second Indian who claimed the title of world champion of chess.
Viswanathan Anand of India also remained world champion of chess for years. FIDE (Federation International Des Echecs) international chess federation holds the world championship every years.
