Ind vs eng: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has revealed the lineup for their opening T20 International against India, scheduled for Wednesday at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
Under the guidance of coach Brendon McCullum, England is ushering in a new chapter in limited-overs cricket, with McCullum emphasizing the continuation of the aggressive gameplay he is known for.
Since assuming his role in 2022, McCullum, a former New Zealand captain, has concentrated on reshaping England’s Test cricket squad.
Meanwhile, Matthew Mott had been overseeing the team’s shorter formats until his resignation last year.
Mott’s departure followed England’s unsuccessful defense of both their T20 and ODI World Cup titles in 2023-24.
McCullum now faces the task of rejuvenating England’s performance in white-ball cricket.
The series against India includes five T20Is, followed by three ODIs.
England’s XI for the first T20I:
Ben Duckett, Phil Salt (wk), Jos Buttler (c), Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, and Mark Wood.
