Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, has agreed to heed the advice of the Supreme Court and engage in discussions with various political parties, including PML-N and PPP. Reports suggest that Khan is set to write a letter to the Supreme Court, seeking guidance on this matter.
In the letter, PTI will outline the current political and economic landscape of the nation and the challenges it confronts. Additionally, it will call for fair trials for PTI members embroiled in legal matters related to the May 9 violence and other issues. PTI’s legal committee is scheduled to convene today to finalize the letter’s contents.
Media reports indicated the party’s willingness to participate in substantive discussions with authorized representatives from other political entities.
The Supreme Court’s advice came during Imran Khan’s virtual appearance from Adiala Central Jail, where he addressed a larger bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. During the session, Khan alleged a lack of control over the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during PTI’s tenure.
In response, Justice Mandokhel urged Khan to collaborate with fellow politicians to address the nation’s challenges, emphasizing that ultimate responsibility lies with political leaders rather than the judiciary.
