Founder chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to appear before the Supreme Court today in a case about changes in NAB laws. His appearance will be arranged via a video link from Adiala Jail , Rawalpindi.
The former prime minister is in jail for past nine months in different cases. His party leaders including Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan have already expressed security concern about Khan’s safety. They complained against the changes in Khan’s security guards in Adiala Jail before the online court appearance.
Law minister Azam Nazir Tarar has said usually a convicted prisoners has never been allowed before the SC but the government will obey the top court order.
Hearing the case couple of the days, SC justice had said the court will also listen to the former prime minister, subsequently ordering Khan’s access via video link.
Imran Khan has been granted bail in Al-Qadri Trust case by the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday. However, Iddat case and Ciper case are two remaining hurdles in his release.
