Authorities have filed cases of attempted murder and terrorism against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, and others.
Government officials confirm that the charges were lodged at Noon police station, targeting 500 individuals, including Imran Khan, Ali Amin Gandapur, Azam Swati, Omar Ayub, Barrister Saif, PTI Islamabad President Aamir Mughal, and Hafeez-ur-Rehman Tipu.
The case includes serious charges such as attempted murder, violations of anti-terrorism laws, arson, assault on the state, and violence against police officers.
Over 500 protesters, allegedly acting on the instructions of Imran Khan and Ali Amin Gandapur, assaulted police officers.
The protesters reportedly kidnapped and tortured Constable Abdul Hameed and attacked the police with batons, stones, and iron rods.
The lawsuit states that the protesters tore police uniforms, fired at officers, used tear gas, and inflicted injuries.
They also set fire to government and public property, while chanting slogans against the government and the state.
During the PTI protest, protesters severely tortured Islamabad police officer Abdul Hameed, who later died from his injuries after receiving hospital treatment.
