Mir Sher Afzal Marwat, a lawyer and PTI leader, was not allowed to enter Adiala Jail as per the reports, on Thursday.
The jail authorities did not let him in even though he came to meet the founder of PTI Imran Khan.
According to officials, Khan no longer recognized him as his attorney.
According to the officials, Imran Khan had given clear instructions to jail authorities that Marwat should not be allowed into the prison premises.
The said instructions included a formal declaration in which he testified that Marwat was no longer his attorney.
When Marwat arrived at Gate No. 5, the prison’s administration halted him and did not allow him to enter.
The jail authorities informed Imran Khan that Mir Sher Afzal Marwat had arrived in the jail.
Khan retorted by stating that Marwat did not possess the legal capacity to act on his behalf.
Consequently, Marwat’s admission was limited by the jail authority.
The government maintained that it was Khan’s express and unambiguous instructions which provided the basis for their actions.
Moreover, the founder of the PTI made it clear that Marwat should not be allowed to meet him.
As a consequence, Marwat was compelled to leave the premises without seeing Khan.
The reasons behind this sudden decision are not yet known. Imran Khan and the jail administration did not elaborate further on the situation.
Questions about the circumstances leading up to this event have arisen due to this sudden development.
