Former prime minister and founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has completed one year in Adiala Jail.
Throughout his 365 days in Adiala Jail, Imran Khan was the subject of more than 180 jail trial hearings. Over a hundred meetings with members of the PTI and his legal team were held by him over the year.
Imran attended court sessions for around a thousand hours throughout this time. Moreover, he spent ninety days in isolation, but otherwise stayed healthy, with the exception of a small toothache problem.
Imran posted on his X account that, “I have compete one year in Adiala Jail. They believed it would shatter and be unable to remain within the building. I spend twenty-one to twenty-two hours in the grinder. I used to sweat so much in the summer that my clothes were always damp.”
“An atomic weapon is not required to destroy any country. Nations do not fall until institutions and morality are gone. If this were the true, Japan would not have progressed to where it is now. Japan was able to get up again ten years after two atomic bombs were dropped on it because its institutions had not been decimated.”
“The extension mafia seeks to take unauthorized extensions. A gang of three mafia members is undermining the country’s future in order to grow. According to the Hamudur Rehman Commission report, one individual, Yahya Khan, has damaged the country’s democracy to strengthen his personal authority. The country lost billions of dollars at the time, and we were humiliated across the world. 90,000 of our men were imprisoned and 50,000 Pakistanis were slaughtered. The report of the Hamud-ur-Rehman Commission remained buried for decades.”
During his one-year incarceration, Imran Khan took part in over 180 media interviews and appeared in e-court three times. According to jail authorities, Imran Khan was convicted in three crimes at this period.
However, Imran Khan was not permitted to have a single private meeting with his wife, Bushra Bibi, during the 365-day period.
