Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan said that Ali Amin Gandapur was disappeared by the establishment, and he is staying silent for their honor.
In an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail on Friday, he said that the country is currently witnessing Yahya Khan Part II. Yahya Khan launched an operation against the country’s largest political party, and this Part II is destroying the country’s institutions. People have lost trust in the police and the lower judiciary. Recently, a judge issued a verdict against Bushra Bibi after receiving instructions for three hours.
Imran Khan also welcomed Maulana Fazlur Rahman’s statement about not granting any extension to positions in the army and judiciary.
He said it is good that Fazlur Rahman has said he does not support any extension. He added that Nawaz Sharif previously attacked the Supreme Court with sticks, and now he is attacking the judiciary by extending the tenure of a judge. Qazi Faez Isa is protecting human rights violations and election rigging, and that is why there is an effort to extend his tenure.
“If you dominate the judiciary, the country will be ruined,” he said.
Imran Khan pointed out that while Singapore has received $140 billion in investments, Pakistan has attracted less than $1 billion. The reason is that investment only comes to places where the rule of law prevails. Judges are being threatened, and the judicial system is being destroyed. The future of Pakistan lies with the 10 million overseas Pakistanis; only they can save the country. We will be free from the IMF when overseas Pakistanis invest in the country.
The PTI founder said that Ali Amin Gandapur was disappeared by the establishment, and no one knew where he had gone.
Everyone knows who is responsible for disappearing people in this country.
Ali Amin is maintaining their honor by staying silent. We are the only federal party that can keep the country united.
He further stated that there is no benefit in calling Shehbaz Sharif the Prime Minister, as he needs a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for everything. Who knows, maybe they will make him disappear too.
Imran Khan expressed concern that the Toshakhana case has not been scheduled for a Supreme Court hearing in the last 18 months, despite filing three requests for an early hearing.
If the Supreme Court hears the Toshakhana case, the other Toshakhana cases will also be resolved. However, Election Commission cases are immediately scheduled for hearings.
He alleged that the Chief Election Commissioner, Sikandar Sultan, is tossing the ball, with Qazi Faez Isa standing on one slip and Justice Aamir Farooq at the other. This is what is happening to them.
He also mentioned that during Nawaz Sharif’s tenure, Pervez Khattak was sent to Afghanistan, and he supports Ali Amin Gandapur’s stance. He is absolutely right, and he endorsed his statement about negotiations with Afghanistan.
Instead, they should be thanking Ali Amin Gandapur for initiating talks.
When asked by a journalist how a provincial government can directly negotiate with another country when there is a federal government and a foreign office, Imran Khan responded that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been the most affected by terrorism.
When Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was the Foreign Minister, he didn’t even visit Afghanistan.
Many police officers have been martyred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the police are on the verge of rebellion, protesting everywhere.
He said that for 24 years, they have been fighting the war against terrorism, and eliminating terrorism should be the top priority of the country. If terrorism is not controlled, the economy will collapse. Unless they improve relations with Afghanistan, they would remain entangled in terrorism. The statistics showed that terrorism was at its lowest during the PTI government. If someone is trying to end terrorism, they should be supported.
Imran Khan remarked that Ali Amin Gandapur is talking in the best interest of the country; he is not speaking against the country. The police situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reached the point of rebellion, and over a thousand police officers have been martyred. The federal government acknowledges cross-border terrorism, so what have they done about it? Ali Amin only talked about going; he did not set any time for it. What is wrong with discussing negotiations? Even I went to Afghanistan and invited Ashraf Ghani to Pakistan, despite his government being anti-Pakistan.
Regarding Ali Amin Gandapur’s statement about liberating Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Imran Khan said that Ali Amin could never say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should be liberated.
“ I do not believe this. Nowhere else has there been as many military operations as in Pakistan. If someone is trying to end terrorism, we should encourage dialogue,” said Imran Khan.
When asked by a journalist what he would have done if he were the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tried to negotiate with Afghanistan without permission, Imran Khan said he would have granted permission because when the police start protecting themselves, who will protect the people?
A journalist asked about his claim that the establishment deceived him, to which Imran Khan replied that in jail, not even a bird can move without the establishment’s approval.
Azam Swati and Barrister Gohar came to jail at 7 a.m. on the establishment’s demand, and they conveyed a message that, for the country’s sake, the rally should be postponed.
The establishment even gave them the date of September 8 and promised all facilities. But what happened to them on September 8 is the greatest betrayal.
