The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has decided to cut off talks with the government, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan revealed.
Speaking to the media persons outside Adiala Jail, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated on behalf of the PTI founder Imran Khan, “Govt-PTI talks are ended”.
“The decision has been made after the government refused to form a three-judge commission to investigate the violent events of May 9, 2023”, Gohar stated.
“The government committed to forming a commission within seven days but failed to meet the commitment,” Gohar said.
“Negotiations cannot move forward without the formation of a three-member judicial commission,” Gohar said.
He highlighted that PTI entered the talks with the intention of resolving issues but had to end them due to the government’s alleged lack of cooperation.
“Discussions could resume if the commission were established,” PTI chairman announced.
Gohar reiterated the party’s desire for successful negotiations. Gohar also noted that Imran Khan remains committed to pursuing dialogue within the boundaries of the Constitution and the law.
Furthermore, Barrister Gohar disclosed that PTI intends to collaborate with other opposition parties in their ongoing fight for justice and accountability.
Meanwhile, Rana Sanaullah stated that the government’s negotiating team would soon provide a written response to PTI’s demands.
Opposition leader Omar Ayub Khan had also warned that without forming commission, further talks would be futile.
