Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf and his wife Bushra Bibi do not receive Iftar and Sehri meals, Barrister Saif claimed.
The ban on meetings with Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi has drawn harsh criticism from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Saif. Saif called these restrictions as intentional abuse during Ramadan.
Barrister Saif asserted in a statement that Bushra Bibi and Khan are being forced to fast on an empty stomach because they are not being given food for Iftar or Sehri.
He claimed that the administration has angered the public by employing oppressive methods for Khan.
Saif called on the judiciary to step in and take action under the rules against contempt of court, saying, “The ban on meetings is an open violation of court orders.” In order to guarantee that justice is done, he also urged the courts to transcend the limitations placed on them by the 26th Amendment to the Constitution.
He further claimed that the couple is being prevented from carrying out their religious obligations in addition to being denied access to basic necessities.
PTI supporters are worried about the limitations placed on the former prime minister and his spouse. They see them as a kind of political victimization. Barrister Saif urged authorities to protect the rights and dignity of those detained, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, and sought quick relief.
