Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been booked over charges of inciting rebellion on X, previously known as Twitter.
The sources say that a case has been filed against the founder of PTI for inciting rebellion through an X account, which is allegedly aimed at undermining the government and state institutions. The case, numbered 1138/24, was registered on September 13.
A four-member team from the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing arrived at Adiala Jail at 7:45 pm on Friday for questioning. The PTI founder was summoned through the Deputy Superintendent of the Jail, but he refused to participate in the investigation, citing the need to consult with his lawyers.
The sources said that the investigative team would return to Adiala Jail on Saturday morning to continue the investigation. They would question the PTI founder about the rebellious messages and his associates involved in spreading them.
