The International Cricket Council (ICC) is pleased with the comprehensive briefing on arrangements for the Champions Trophy 2025 that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials provided.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi attended an ICC meeting where the preparations were outlined.
According to the sources, PCB officials gave the ICC board members assurances that the venues that will host the tournament are being upgraded and that all outstanding work will be finished by the deadline.
In addition, Naqvi issued an invitation to the ICC board members to visit Pakistan to assess the arrangements for the massive event that would be held there the next year.
Although Pakistan, a cricketing nation, has had challenges in hosting the tournament, including uncertainties over the participation of the Indian cricket team, the event is scheduled to begin February 19 and go through March 9, 2025.
For the major tournament, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) requests permission from the Indian government to travel there.
In order to shorten the Indian team’s stay in Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, the PCB has previously suggested that they might leave the country after every game, according to The News.
Indian cricket team last travelled to Pakistan was back in 2008. Since then the neighbouring country hasn’t toured Pakistan.
