Pakistan had agreed to a hybrid model under an agreement with the International Cricket Council, under which all international events between Pakistan and India will be held at neutral venues until 2027, so all India’s matches for the Champions Trophy 2025 will be played in the United Arab Emirates.
Pakistan has submitted the names of the preliminary squad for the Champions Trophy.
It should be noted that India has not played a match in Pakistan since the Asia Cup 2008, while no bilateral series has been played between the two countries since Pakistan’s tour of India in 2012-13.
Last year, Pakistan was awarded the Asia Cup, but India flatly refused to come to Pakistan, after which all India’s matches were scheduled in Sri Lanka under the hybrid model, where India easily defeated Sri Lanka in the final played in Colombo to win the title.
Pakistan will participate in this Champions Trophy as the defending champions. The last time the Champions Trophy was held was in 2017, which Pakistan won under the leadership of Sarfaraz Ahmed.
