Pakistani superstar Mahira Khan, during a session of the Karachi literary festival on Sunday, stated that she doesn’t know Firdous Jamal, a senior but controversial Pakistani actor.
Firdous Jamal and Mahira Khan have been involved in a long-running controversy. Jamal has constantly mocked Mahira for her acting skills and age, which eventually led to his ban by Hum TV.
However, Mahira has always been very graceful about the whole thing, refraining from passing any vile comment.
During the session, host Wasim Badami asked her about her views on Firdous Jamal. Mahira said, “I don’t know him.”
When Badami further pressed saying, “He is a famous and senior Pakistani artist” she took a pause and calmly replied, “I don’t know him personally to be passing remarks.”
With nearly two decades in the entertainment industry, Mahira Khan has established herself as one of Pakistan’s most prominent celebrities.
From starring in films and dramas to hosting live events, her career has been marked by remarkable achievements as well as navigating her fair share of controversies along the way.
Firdous Jamal Remarks:
Earlier, Veteran actor Firdous Jamal called Mahira Khan “an older woman.”
During a recent interview, Jamal did not hold back when asked about his previous comments on Mahira Khan.
The host revisited Jamal’s earlier remarks where he had suggested that Mahira, due to her age, should transition to more mature roles rather than playing a heroine.
Despite her acclaimed performance in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” Jamal remained unapologetic, stating, “I simply spoke the truth about her age. In my view, she is an older woman.”
Firdous Jamal also challenged the widespread admiration for Mahira’s beauty, asserting, “If others find her beautiful, that’s their opinion, not mine. I don’t see her that way.”
When the host mentioned that most Pakistanis consider Mahira beautiful, Jamal responded dismissively, saying, “If 90% of people think that way, it doesn’t mean I have to agree.”
