The 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan, which will be the nation’s first ICC tournament in a long time.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated Rs12.8 billion to upgrade stadiums in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi to suit international standards, indicating that preparations are well underway.
As per the information, there were reports on the current building work and stadium expenses during the latest Board of Governors meeting held in Faisalabad.
Rs7.7 billion will be spent on renovations for the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, which is expected to get the largest investment.
A steel-structured pavilion building will be built for Rs1,100 million, a concrete office building will cost Rs3,471 million, the steel enclosure structure will cost Rs1,250 million, a moat will cost Rs189 million, and two LED digital displays will cost Rs330 million to repair.
Gaddafi Stadium’s 480 LED lights will replace the floodlights, and the installation of seats will cost Rs375 million. External development work will cost Rs93 million. The total cost of the project is Rs523 million.
An estimated Rs3.5 billion will be spent on building the National Bank Stadium, Karachi.
The steel structure of the pavilion building will cost 1,500 million rupees, the main building and hospitality boxes will be renovated for 580 million, two new LED digital screens will cost 330 million, floodlights will be replaced with 450 LED lights for 490 million, and seat installation will cost 340 million rupees.
It is expected that the development of Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi would cost Rs1.5 billion.
This includes Rs 400 million for remodeling the main structure, hospitality boxes, and bathrooms, and Rs 393 million for swapping out floodlights for 350 LED lights.
In addition, two LED digital displays will be replaced with a budget of Rs 330 million, and new seating arrangements would cost an additional Rs 272 million.
