BENEFITS OF HIMMAT CARD
Maryam Nawaz expressed her admiration for individuals with disabilities, stating that they would be able to travel for free on the Orange Line, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi Metro buses using the card. Starting from October 15, the Himmat Card can be used as a travel card for special individuals in Punjab.
She mentioned that the number of Himmat Cards would be increased to over 65,000, and individuals could write to the Chief Minister to obtain the card.
In her address at the Himmat Card launch event, The CM said stated that the card is being provided to those individuals with disabilities who are bedridden or unable to leave their homes to earn a living. She emphasized that after receiving the Himmat Card, these individuals would no longer be a burden on society or their families. She acknowledged that individuals with disabilities are often the most courageous, enduring challenges without losing hope, determination and patience.
HOW TO ENTROL IN HIMMAT CARD PROGRAMME?
She added that individuals with disabilities can write to the chief minister of Punjab and the Special Welfare Department to enroll in the Himmat Card programme. While a sum of Rs3,500 for three months may not seem significant, it would still provide some assistance. She concluded by stating that she would stand by individuals facing these challenges and expressed her astonishment at the sketching abilities of young individuals with disabilities who are missing limbs.
