U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned this attack on U.N peacekeeper calling it an open violation of rules.
UNIFIL, the U.N. mission, called it a serious situation and said the safety of U.N staff must be ensured. France, Italy, and Spain criticized the attacks on U.N. forces stressing that these attacks must be stopped.
U.S. President Joe Biden asked Israel to avoid targeting peacekeepers. Russia also showed dissatisfaction over this attack and demanded that Israel should stop attacking peacekeepers.
Earlier, two other peacekeepers were hurt in southern Lebanon in Israeli attacks.
U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin condemned these attacks on peacekeepers. He also called for a shift from military actions to diplomacy. However, Israel has rejected calls for a ceasefire in both Lebanon and Gaza.
