Reports circulating about a four-day holiday for Eid ul Fitr, allegedly announced by the federal government, have been refuted by the Ministry of Interior, clarifying that no decision has been made yet.
A fabricated notification circulating on social media platforms claims that the Prime Minister has declared April 9th to April 12th, 2024, as a public holiday for Eid ul Fitr, citing a circular from the cabinet division.
However, the Ministry of Interior spokesperson dismissed the circulating notification as “fake,” emphasizing that the federal government has not finalized any decision regarding Eid ul Fitr holidays.
The spokesperson assured that any decision made by the government regarding holidays will be communicated through an official notification.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has announced a nine-day holiday for Daanish schools on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr, starting from April 6th. The notification issued by provincial authorities stated that Daanish Schools in the province will remain closed from April 6th to April 14th.
Traditionally, Eid holidays typically begin a day earlier than the anticipated date to allow individuals ample time for preparations and participation in festive celebrations.
