Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, has said that 3 hostages will be released in Gaza on Saturday, while Israel will also release 90 prisoners.
According to international media, the hostages that Hamas will release include Ofer Calderon, Keith Siegel, and Jordan Bibas.
On the other hand, in exchange, Israel will release 81 other prisoners in addition to 9 Palestinians sentenced to life imprisonment.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that it has received the names of the 3 hostages to be released.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club advocacy group said that in exchange, Israel would release 90 prisoners, 9 of whom are serving life sentences.
On October 7, 2023, during an attack on Israel, Hamas militants kidnapped Keith Siegel from the Kibbutz Kfar Azza area, and Calderon and Bibas from Kibbutz Nir Oz.
Hamas militants took a total of 251 people hostage that day. Of these, 79 are still in Gaza, with at least 34 dead according to the Israeli military.
Among those captured were the wife and two children of Yordan Bibas, who Hamas has already declared dead, although Israeli authorities have not yet confirmed this.
