The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Player Draft for the 10th season will take place on January 11 in the coastal city of Gwadar.
The move highlighted the PCB’s aim to promote cricket in underrepresented regions and showcase Gwadar’s cultural and economic significance.
According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, hosting the event in Gwadar is a step towards emphasizing the city’s strategic importance.
It also symbolizes celebrating the unifying power of cricket, said Naqvi.
“This event not only highlights Gwadar’s breathtaking coastline but also its pivotal role in Pakistan’s economic future,” Naqvi remarked.
HBL PSL CEO Salman Naseer called this decision a testament to the league’s vision of expanding cricket across Pakistan.
He also claimed that the decision wiil present the country’s beauty to the world.
He emphasized that holding the draft in Gwadar is meant to inspire young cricketers, particularly from Balochistan, to pursue cricket as a professional career.
Details regarding the player retention and relegation lists will be revealed later this month.
