The Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has concluded its protest in Gwadar following fruitful discussions with the district administration, culminating in a comprehensive seven-point agreement.
The protests, which had been ongoing in various regions of Balochistan, including Gwadar, were officially brought to an end with the signing of the agreement by Dr. Mahrang Baloch and the Gwadar deputy commissioner. Per the agreement, national highways will be reopened today, and mobile network services will be restored shortly.
Additionally, individuals detained during the protests in Karachi and Balochistan will be released once the strike is fully lifted by the BYC.
Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Buledi, MPA Maulana Hidayatur Rahman, Makran Division Commissioner Daud Khilji, Deputy Commissioner Hamoodur Rahman, and other officials, including DIGs, participated in the talks.
Key mediators in the discussions included Hussain Wadela, chairman of the Haq Do Tehreek; Majid Sorabi of BNP-Mengal, and Maulana Abdul Hameed of JUI, along with other leaders.
Home Minister Langove underscored the significance of dialogue, highlighting that peaceful negotiations are crucial for resolving conflicts. He praised the government, administration, and institutions for their patience during the protests.
He also called on the public to protest peacefully, without resorting to property damage, violence against security forces, or harm to civilians under the guise of protest.
