Rockstar Games has confirmed a leak revealing gameplay and mission details of the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6.
The leak has sparked widespread excitement and speculation among fans about what the next installment in the blockbuster franchise will bring.
An X (formerly Twitter) account, GTA 6 Countdown, which regularly posts updates about the game, shared a list of rumors related to GTA 6.
According to the leak, the upcoming game will feature Lucia as the central character, with separate intro missions for her and Jason, another key character.
The story will reportedly have a more realistic feel, focusing on the main characters’ personal challenges and family issues.
Though the game promises massive side content, rumors suggest GTA 6’s main story will be shorter than Red Dead Redemption 2.
Fans further speculated that the leak was credible after GTA 6 Countdown retweeted the original post and stated that Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, issued a DMCA takedown to remove the leaked content.
The X handle added: “This leak has been pretty much confirmed, as we just received a DMCA takedown from Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two.”
Meanwhile, fans eagerly await the second official trailer for GTA 6, rumored to drop on October 4.
Speculation around the trailer’s release grew after Rockstar posted a job listing for a Screenshot Capture Artist—a position often associated with promotional content creation.
Earlier this year, Take-Two Interactive set the release of GTA 6 for fall 2025.
Rockstar Games announced the game will launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S but hasn’t provided a PC release date yet.
The first teaser trailer, released last year, revealed the game’s setting in a fictional Vice City, inspired by Miami, and introduced the franchise’s first playable female protagonist.
