Pakistan Foreign Office (FO) has announced the name of five Pakistani nationals who died in Greek boat incident.
In previous days, a devastating incident occurred, when a boat, carrying a large number of migrants, including Pakistanis, overturned near the southern coast of Gavdos Island. At least five individuals were reported drowned, while many remain unaccounted.
Greece rescue teams have started a search operation to recover the dead bodies of the drowned. In this search operation, 47 Pakistani citizens have been rescued yet.
Now, FO has announced the list of victim’s names, their age and their hometown. As per FO statement the identified victims are Sufyan, 22 from Pasrur, Owais, 17, also from Pasrur, Abid, 12, from Pasrur, Zain Ali, 14, from Narowal and Ehtesham from Mandi Bahauddin.
FO noted that they are in continuous connection with the Greek authoriries to assist the Pakistani citizens affected by this incident.
