The government declares a drop of Rs 10 per liter in the cost of petrol due to a decrease in fuel prices in the global market during the last two weeks.
A statement from the Finance Division on Sunday night stated, “The consumer prices of petroleum products have been determined by the Oil and Gas regulatory Authority (Ogra), taking into account price fluctuations in the global market.”
High-speed diesel (HSD) was reduced as well by the government, from Rs262.75 to Rs249.69, a decrease of Rs13.06 per liter.
The updated rates took effect at midnight.
The most recent price adjustment is the fourth in two months to be made in the same period.
The federal government reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.86 per liter, from Rs260.96 to Rs259.10 per liter, in the most recent weekly review.
