Bollywood veteran actor and Shiv Sena leader, Govinda, is currently recovering after accidentally shooting himself at his home early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. as the actor was getting ready to depart for Kolkata.
Govinda, 60, suffered a leg injury when his revolver discharged unexpectedly. Govinda immediately went to CritiCare Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Hospital officials have confirmed that his condition is stable, and he is out of danger.
According to reports from Mumbai Police, the mishap happened when Govinda dropped his licensed revolver while attempting to secure it in its case, leading to the accidental firing.
Authorities seized the weapon as part of their ongoing investigation, although no formal complaint has been filed.
Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata at the time, is traveling to Mumbai to be by his side. She assured the public that the actor is stable and receiving the necessary care.
The actor’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed that doctors successfully removed the bullet and expect Govinda to make a full recovery.
