The federal government has sanctioned a three-day holiday period, on Tuesday, to facilitate Eid ul adha 2024 festivities.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif greenlit the summary proposing the Eid holidays, granting citizens a respite from June 17 to 19.
Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the Eid break extends over five days when coupled with the existing public holidays on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16.
Previously, the Cabinet Division had presented a comprehensive proposal to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, advocating for Eid holidays spanning from June 17 to 19. The decision aims to provide ample time for citizens to mark the occasion with their families and communities without immediate work commitments.
Meanwhile, in Dubai, private schools, universities, and nurseries will follow suit, closing their doors from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, aligning with Eid ul adha celebrations. The UAE Knowledge and Human Development Authority has announced the reopening of educational institutions on Wednesday, June 19.
Furthermore, the Dubai government has declared Eid Al Adha holidays for its employees, commencing from Saturday, June 15, until Tuesday, June 18, with official work resuming on Wednesday, June 19.
Similarly, the Federal Authority of Human Resources has announced Eid holidays for government employees, ensuring paid leave from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, marking Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha.
