The federal government of Pakistan has summoned a joint session of Parliament on Friday, January 24, with several laws to be passed.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has advised President Asif Zardari to convene a joint session of Parliament.
As reported by the parliamentary sources, the advice was sent to convene a joint session at 10 am on Friday, as several laws will be passed in the session.
Prime Minister’s participation in the National Assembly session, intense sloganeering by the opposition and the government, and copies of the agenda were torn.
According to sources, the laws will be passed in a joint session as neither house has passed them.
Sources have said that the government has instructed the members of the National Assembly and senators to stay in Islamabad.
According to parliamentary sources, the government has directed the members to ensure their presence in the House during the joint session.
