The government has lowered the prices of petroleum products, with an official notification issued by the Ministry of Finance. According to the details, the notification from the Federal Ministry of Finance covers a 15-day period. Starting June 1, the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 4.74 per liter, setting the new price at Rs 268.36 per liter.
In the notification issued last night, it was also stated that the price of diesel has been reduced by Rs 3.86 per liter, setting the new price at Rs 270.22 per liter. The price of kerosene has been lowered by Rs 1.87 per liter, bringing it to Rs 171.61 per liter.
Additionally, the government reduced the price of light diesel oil by Rs 3.88 per liter, resulting in a new price of Rs 157.29 per liter. It is important to note that the government has maintained a levy of Rs 60 per liter on both petrol and diesel.
Previously, the Prime Minister’s Office had recommended a reduction of Rs 15.40 per liter for petrol and Rs 7.90 per liter for diesel. However, the Ministry of Finance’s notification reduced the price of petrol by Rs 4.74 per liter and diesel by Rs 3.86 per liter.
