After charges were framed against 100 accused including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and nine more individuals have now been charged in the GHQ attack case.
The hearing of the case took place at Adiala jail presided over by anti-terrorism court judge Amjad Ali Shah.
During the proceedings, the prosecution submitted a request to cancel the bail of 23 accused including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khandwal prompting the court to issue notices in response.
The code frame charges against nine additional individuals in the GHQ attack. Those charged during the hearing included Shireen Mazari, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Khadem Hussain, Zakirullah, Azeemullah Khan, Major Tahir Sadiq, Mehr Muhammad Javed, Chaudhry Asif, and Munir.
However, the accused Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Colonel Ajmal Sabir Raja, and Sikander Zaib refuse to sign a charge sheet
The accused argued that the evidence against them was insufficient and requested that their application under section 265 D (seeking dismissal of charges) be heard first.
They stated that they would sign the charge sheet after the court decides on their application. During the hearing, PTI founder Imran Khan was presented in a special court set up inside Adiala Jail.
The charges included sedition, terrorism, attempted murder, arson and conspiracy. The court adjourned the hearing until December 19th
