Amid the ongoing crackdown on gas theft, SNGPL continued its operations in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, resulting in the disconnection of 268 more connections. A fine of Rs 4 million was imposed as part of the enforcement efforts.
In Lahore, the regional team took action by disconnecting 15 connections due to unauthorized gas usage. In Rawalpindi, 40 connections were severed for illegal gas consumption, with an additional 6 disconnected for the use of compressors, leading to a total fine of Rs 0.28 million in gas theft cases. In Multan, six connections faced disconnection for illegal gas usage, while 36 were cut off for employing compressors.
In Peshawar and Karak, the company disconnected 109 connections for the direct and unauthorized use of gas, resulting in a fine of Rs 3.71 million against gas theft cases. The team also filed three FIRs against gas pilferers.
Moving to Sahiwal, 5 connections were disconnected due to compressor usage, and one for illegal gas use. In Sheikhupura, 42 connections were severed for illegal gas consumption, and a fine of Rs 0.02 million was imposed in gas theft cases. The regional team in Bahawalpur disconnected one connection for compressor usage. In Faisalabad, the team disconnected 1 connection for illegal gas use and imposed a fine of Rs 0.03 million against gas theft cases. Finally, in Gujarat, the regional team disconnected 6 connections due to illegal gas usage.
