Rajesh Kumar, a well-known television actor revealed that he has huge debt of Rs 2 crore and selling vegetables outside his son’s school.
Rajesh Kumar, famous for his role as ‘Rosesh Sarabhai’ in Sarabhai vs. Sarabhai, recently opened up about his financial struggles.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rajesh talked about his financial condition. He said that he decided to leave acting in 2017. He later pursued farming in his village, Gaya. Actor shared that his farming startup failed, forcing him to sell vegetables outside his son’s school.
Rajesh recalled that his son, in third grade, asked his teachers to buy vegetables from him After that his classmates went to other classrooms to spread the word.
Rajesh said that this phase of his life made people to question ‘he has gone mad. Why is he selling vegetables?’
Rajesh revealed that he faced a bigger problem when he was cheated, leaving him with a debt of Rs 2 crore. He explained that his business was losing money without him realizing it, partly due to poor accounting and wastage.
He added that to manage the orders and transactions, he created an app, hoping it would help. However, the person who developed the app betrayed him, leading to further financial losses.
Rajesh said that the startup collapsed, adding to his debt and resulting in one of the most challenging period of his life.
Through this experience, Rajesh highlighted the importance of dignity in work, no matter the job. Despite the hardships, he shared his journey with honesty, making him relatable to many who have faced setbacks in life.
