The Federal Cabinet has approved formation of the inquiry commission to investigate the controversial letter of the Islamabad High Court judges.
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (Retired) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani will head this commission, said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while addressing the federal cabinet members today.
Starting from Bisham incident in which five engineers of China and a Pakistani driver lost their lives, the Prime Minister said that the nation of Pakistan in this moment of grief stands with the people of China and no effort in this regard will be left to hold on the responsible.
He said that behind this incident were obviously the enemies of Pakistan and that he has sought a comprehensive report in this regard.
Adding more he said all possible measures will be taken in this regard to avoid any such incident in future. The Prime Minister has circulated target papers to the federal all ministers concerning short term, midterm and long term targets for them besides directing them to share their performance reports within given time.
He said that the government will work following the notions – Responsibility with accountability and where there is a will there is way. He said that every ministry of the government including interior, IT, agriculture, finance and commerce will have to work according new ideas and thoughts to bring improvement. He said adding that utilization of available resources be ensured and the needed ones would be provided.
He said that reformation in areas including petroleum, IT, agriculture, industries, power and energy and was need of the hour. Besides enhancement in the GDP, agriculture contribution from 25 to 35 percent and an increase of exports up to 25 million dollars were to be met within their five year government span, he added.
Adding further the Prime Minister said that minimum requirements of the defense forces of Pakistan as a deterrent against enemy will also be met besides taking other steps to support undefeatable defense of Pakistan. Besides this steps will also be taken to improve and enhance international business transactions, he said.
Meanwhile important to note regarding the formation of the inquiry commission is that the Chairman of the commission in consultation with the federal ministry of law will define the TORs of the commission. This commission will be provided all required support by the cabinet division besides this the commission will complete its inquiry and findings within a period of two months. Federal Law Minister has said that the nominated chairman of the commission has also expressed his will to head this commission.
This commission has to investigate a letter which six judges of the IHC have written to the Supreme Judicial Council seeking guidance over an alleged interference of the executive intelligence agencies in the dispensation of justice.
